Project Update

Located in Wedgeport, Nova Scotia, construction of this project began in early summer, 2014, with site clearing and road construction.  The project entered commercial operations in March, 2016.

Community Information

The Wedgeport Project received ComFIT approval for 1.8MW by the Nova Scotia Department of Energy on October 18, 2012.  The site is located in Wedgeport, NS and has an estimated wind speed of 7.6m/s based on 2 years of MET tower data gathered at the site. The Wedgeport Project was originally developed as a joint venture between Watts Wind Energy and Membertou Development Corporation.  However, since the award date, Watts has become sole developer of the project and is proceeding with a 1.6MW turbine at the Wedgeport site.
